not feeling well...cold/cough...taking off from work tomorrow, need to get ok before friday.
don't want to ruin my holiday cos of a silly, runny nose.

been nearly 2 weeks since i last wrote. much water has flowed under the bridge since then.

most significantly, mum retired as headmistress of the junior wing, delhi public school, mathura road on the 31st of march after working for 32 years as teacher and administrator.

think i cried more than she did.

never knew she was so popular. it was probably the biggest farewell i saw since mrs. nakra retired over 15 years back. all those kids with flowers, teachers recounting special moments, mom's farewell speech.....overwhelming.

i am so proud of mom for all that she has achieved over the years. she gives me the strength to believe how beautifully women can balance work and home.

took me 4 hours to open up the bouquets and arrange the flowers. ran out of vases, eventually.
there were some 300 red roses and 200 stems of other coloured roses, gladioli, carnations etc. totally amazing.

hmm...what else. having a fab time with nish. he's making some funny sounds nowadays- clucking his tongue, he's learnt how to ring the door bell, insists on walking - refuses to crawl, has made 2 trips to the mandir, hates long distance car rides. he's the cutest.
also, been planning for his 1st birthday celebrations. venue, invites, guest list, cake, birthday caps.....the works.

crazy flip flops with the trip.
had finally managed to get everyone else paranoid about the SARS scare in singapore. the trip was headed in the other direction - rome and amsterdam. and then went right back to australia again.

so finally finally, its kuala lumpur, brisbane, gold coast. unless there are more changes in the next 3 days.

i think i've got a mental jet lag with this east to west and back movement:-)

so if everything goes as planned, i'm outta here on 11th, friday.
