i have nothing to say about not writing for nearly 2 years
nearly 2 years since i last wrote. that is insane!! how busy can one get to not pay attention to one's own blog. grrr...
i wouldn't have written this time around either, if blogger hadn't sent me an email reminding me that there was no activity on my account!
much has changed and much is still the same....
i still work at kraft in brand management. am now a senior associate brand manager on baker's chocolate. no complaints about the brands i've worked on....first pizza, then chocolate.....yeah!
d still works at stark investments in 'waukee.
so what changed.
we now live together...again. after staying apart in chicago and 'waukee, we found a (happy?) medium in libertyville - a suburb 40 miles north of chicago. i still take the train to work. d drives 50 miles each way to work...poor kid. we bought a condo in the heritage place (aka empty nester retirement community :)) near downtown libertyville. it has a cute little town center with a theater, library, boutiques, coffee shops, restaurants, salons and even a micro-brewery!
but we miss the city! and try and get back there as often as we can.
i finally got a driving licence - 4th attempt - no kidding! phew!
we've travelled a lot since i last wrote in -
- san francisco and napa valley in september '06
- london, rome, florence and venice in november '06
- new orleans in april '07
- munich, salzburg, vienna, krems, melk, prague in may '07
- london, paris, dijon, beaune, amsterdam in september '07
- key west in december '07
....and we've loved every bit of it.
and collected great memories along the way...
....the view of the pantheon from our hotel window in rome, the best cappuccino at cafe saint eustachio, the best pesto pasta ever at da ganoni in florence, sunset over river arno, the swamp and sugar plantation tours in new orelans, the biegnets and chicory coffee at cafe du monde, the little elephant outside the museum of natural history in vienna, stephenskirche, cafe demel, eating bread and cheese and drinking wine on the melk abbey terrace, inexpensive pilsner in prague, eiffel, bread and mustard, montmarte, ooh...those creperies, marche aux vins, pancakes in amsterdam, anne frank haus, the canals and tree lined streets, catching fish in the atlantic, bunny kitty at the hemingway house.....
going on stomp (sales training for marketing professionals) to supervalu in minneapolis in april.
turning 30 this may. yayy??
